The Process:

I had in my possession a wide slab of Imbuia with two live edges but it’s shape did not lend itself well to any particular project that I could imagine at the time. I was able to cut the piece in half and apply a miter joint to it, rejoining it in a 90-degree fashion. I then cut a slab of Steel with a pattern copied from the live edge of the wood slab for the opposite side and mounted all of this between steel legs for a unique, one-of-a-kind dining table.
