The wood was collected from my property in Morretes-PR Brazilfrom a tree that had died and fallen.

The Process:

Working with wood from the crotch of a tree comes with his own challenges as the gain variations cause stress in the piece therefore twisting during the drying process is often a problem.  However with enough time and patience in the curing process, and the effort to maintain a flat surface while milling and planing it, this table came out beautiful with its natural edges and format. The steel hairpin legs allow the table to appear to be light and somewhat floating while the polished concrete base shows its strength.
