The wood was collected from my property in Morretes_PR Brazil, A tree that had fallen.

The Process:

The top of this table is made of simple slabs of wood which had the tendency to split so I secured them with butterfly joints.  I then fabricated steel plates with openings that were equal to the thickness of the wood in order to capture the top pieces and join them appropriately as legs. Before I had assembled the legs to the top I prepared an acid solution to controllably rust the steel until I got the texture and color that I desired.
