Found or located Where:

The wood is from Parma, Idaho, USA. The stone comes from the foothills in Boise, Idaho, USA.

The Process:

I grew up alongside a large sycamore tree at my childhood home near Parma Idaho. Much later in my life, the tree was removed due to its age and risk of falling.  My father milled some of the tree into lumber and stored it for several years.  I Believe there is still more of this Lumber stored at his farm in and outbuilding.  The two vertical wooden legs of this piece are of that tree.  The other leg of this console table is made from volcanic rock which I collected in the foothills north of Boise Idaho and subsequently cut, polished and fabricated the leg. The top of the console is a polished black lacquer surface.  Bringing three disparate elements together I have created a delicate console.
