The Process:
Some materials resist the deterioration of nature better than others. This piece is an example of that resistance. Despite the fact that this tree probably had fallen victim to flood waters along the bank bar in the past, it is a tree that has a grain structure that is very resistant to deterioration and even though it probably descended through the river current during high water and removed through abrasion the superficial layers of the wood, what remains is the beautiful interior of the hardwood, polished to a brilliant surface and showing its detail.
