Wood (Ipê) and wood from railway sleepers (Imbuia), Base of Stone

Recovered along the riverbank of my property in Morretes-PR, Brazil

The Process:

The beautiful grain structure in the sweeping base of an old tree could not be ignored or discarded without highlighting the details that nature produced in this twisted piece of Ipê.  cleaning up the material brought even more life to this piece.  Ultimately mounting it a top two legs made from retired railway sleepers and a simple stone leg supporting the opposite end, this bench is unique, strong and a focal point to any space it is used in.
