The Process:

In the process of cutting slabs of wood from a log the remaining edges were almost thrown away however these simple edgings show beautiful detail and an insight into the life of a tree and provide two delicate decorative pieces. These pieces show, in successive order, the changes in grain structure as the cuts advance inwardly into the tree.
